SPANISH CLUB The Spanish Club. under President Don Carney, ex- plores the flowery romance language through a better understanding ol' the history, customs, literature, music and culture ol' Spain. The aim of every member is to learn to speak, write, and read Spanish fluently. The club provides movies, pictures, speakers, and records to enrich and enhance their knowledge and background. Studying the French language, customs, cul- ture, music, and politics, the French Club is composed of students studying the romance language. Their pro- grams included speakers, movies, records, and student discussions. Joyce Whippo, president, led the group with Ellen A. Mattson as sponsor. The French Club meets once a month. Loren Flouhouse, Harry Gardner, George Arc-her, Delmer Loew. Third row: Mary Lou Wells, Floyd COLLEGE BAND Gala parades, high school tours, and outstanding concerts symbolized the successful year experienced by the West Liberty State College Band. Under the able direction of Dr. Edward Wolf, the Band practiced at least four hours a week to attain the height of perfec- tion. Although small, the high-steppers competently carried out the traditional West Liberty Spirit. This was especially exemplified in the colorful and tuneful touch that the Band gave to the Homecoming Activities. 100 STUDENT ORGAN GUILD Attending operas in Pittsburgh, bringing noited or- ganists to campus for recitals, listening to records, and serving as accompanists for other musicians are just a few of the activities promoted by the West Liberty Stu- dent Organ Guild this ycar. The chief goals of the Organ Guild, sponsored by Mr. John K. Zorian, are to advance the cause of worthy church music, to raise the standard of efficiency of organists, and to provide opportunities for the discussion of professional topics.
