It is hoped that these trips will make history relevent to the stu- dents, lives and help them to understand the similiari- ties between the past, present, and future ofthe world. The department hopes to increase the number of students in mathematics courses in the following years. It is in the midst of enlarging its selection of courses. Included in the new curriculum will be: Probability and Statistics, 'sSelected Advanced Topics in Mathe- maticsf, and an experimental course in transforma- tional geometry. These courses are designed for those students in higher math. The Wang computer is being used a great deal by the math and science departments. The computer is used mainly by the compro class, a one semester course in computer programming. There will be more one semester courses added next year which will meet the one year math requirement for graduation. Skills classes use a math laboratory approach.
