ROW 3 I oph-Fresh Do Well The Sophomore VVrestling team finished second in the standings. One of their outstanding wrestlers was Mike Pat- ti, who won the Sophomore Vtfaukegan Tourney. Keeping with West Levden's standard of wrestling, they should prove valuable on next years JV team. Mr. Kapheirns Freshman VVrc-stling team placed third, averaged 33 points per match, scored 330 points in the sea- son, and had 62 pins to only46 forthe opponents. The fastest pin, hy Tom Manson was in 21 seconds. Dave Baron had I4 wins and pinsg he also had the most points. The best overall wrestler was Rav VVinkler with a 1374 record. Year 01 Records This yearls season was a winning one forthe Tankers. Four new records were establishedg In the 200 yard race with a time of 1:50.1 was jim Davies, Don Dickens, Balph Tolomei. and Bob Korzenski. The 100 yard butterfly, with a time of 11005. Bandy Lobe set a new diving record with a score of 72:65. Bob Korzenski was the teamls most valuable player. Bob with his 200 yard freestyle time of 1157.8 and Don Dickens with his 100 yard butterfly time of 1:01 were conference champs. The Sophomore Swimmers also had a strong season New records were set by Ken Paulsen in the 200 yard individual medley. Time 2:2T.4g Keith Haylik. Danny Slater. Mike Yi- lunis in the -100 yard freestyle, time 4:01.81 Ken Paulsen in the 100 yard butterfly. time 1:04.83 and Pete Hoffman. john NVakulich. Ken Paulsen. Mike Vilumis time 2:00.9.
