The club also hopes to sponsor a West Leyden student overseas for one year. This develops the personal associa- tion between individuals of different nations. It brings friendships between nations. The AFS activities include the first dance of the year, the annual Charlie Brown Day, a Penny Drive, and an all school carnival. The adult chapter is an important part of AFS. Their primary concern is finding parents for the students at West Leyden.
