Science Club Science Club deals with scientific experi- ments and projects. Out of school the mem- bers test field techniques and theories on field trips such as to Pere Marqurette State Park. In the Science Club there are no officers presiding over the other members. In the past, work has often been left strictly to the officers, this year a different person pre- . .. sides over each meeting. The boys are used as guides on Parent Teacher nights and sell Peanuts for Kiwanis on their annual Peanut Day. International conventions are held sever- al times during the year while the regular meetings are held at West Leyden on Thursday nights with refresh- ments afterward. Social Studies Seminar Social Studies Seminar is the place to be if one enjoys participat- ing in lively discussion of social issues. In SSS, students are given a broader background in the various aspects of the world today, Students and faculty took field trips and museum tours several times during the year. The schedule is planned by the clubis sponsor, Mr. Larry Crippin. This year, SSS was able to take an overnight tour to the Henry Ford Museum and Motor Company in Michigan as well as their annual trip to Springfield. SSS presented the films, Interviews with My Lai Veterans and A Plague on Your Children. Other activities included slide lectures by faculty members like Mr. Siscois, on his recent trip to Russia.
