From a suburb of Bonn, the capital of West Germany, came our ninth foreign exchange stu- dent, Karl Schonauer. Karl arrived in the middle of August at O'Hare Airport where he met for the first time his American family, the Ramseys. Being able to speak English fluently and coming from a similar environment, Karl was settled within a couple of weeks. He likes our school system very much for it allows a great freedom in choice of classes and breaks throughout the day. He im- mediately signed up for Political Science and Contemporary Problems for he has an analytical mind and greatly enjoys political discussion. Be- cause of his strong opinions and criticisms stu- dents have certainly learned much from his stay.

This year they earned money to bring Karl Schonauer to America and acted as host to many other students at an A.F.S. weekend. To raise money, they held the first dance of the year, sold candy canes at Christmas and sponsored ... Charlie Brown Day Under the theme of Mardi Gras , Charlie Brown Day was a huge success. Costumes ranged from the mildly humorous to the completely ridiculous and a good time was had by all. Pictures on opposite page certainly speak for themselves. Prizes for best costumes went to a vampire and the Andrew Sisters. Good Grief, what'll they think of next? L. Card, L. jamroz, B. Dooley, V. Blomquist. ROW 5: B. Berberich, M Nilson, P. Maskeri, 1.
