Hi Student Council This year's Student Council began another contro- versial year. Their biggest problem once again was the communication gap which exists between the adminis- tration, Student Council, and the whole student body. This year they tried to close that gap with a student poll for their annual concert and a fight to regain the old coke machine, which they got for a two week trial peri- od. During the year Student Council also organized all Homecoming activities, had a canned foods drive at Christmas, and collected for the March of Dimes. ABOVE: ROW 7: ILEFT TO RICHTJ: Co-secretary C. Outside the classroom, student feet have the opportunity of moving in many different directions. Many times the organized clubs at West Leyden serve as guideposts in help- ing the student toward achievement or at least realization of his goals. But it is up to the student as to which club he will join and how he feels he can best use his feet. Be it walking miles selling peanuts for the Kiwan- as, marching on the football field with in- strument in hand, jumping and cheering for a great team, or even dancing to the sounds of modern music, it is his choice and it is worthwhile and beneficial. There is some- thing for everyone if one is willing to take the first step. So, to all those students who have joined, supported, and worked for any of the more than 40 clubs andfor their activ- ities and to the sponsors and advisors who lend a helping hand, we dedicate these pages, Put your best foot forward.
