Adds New Courses The main objective of the Boys Physical Education Department, according to department chairman, Mr Schwartz, is to develope strength, endurance, and so cial grace, also to develop an appreciation for sports, J' recreation and health. A new course, Specialized Swim, has been added to the Girls' Physical Education Department this year. In this course, students were given an opportunity to improve on the old and new swim strokes. They were also able to perform synchronized swim strokes ac- cording to their level of ability and basic scuba diving techniques. Dance films, mirrors, swim overlays and gymnastics overlays were used to increase student in- volvement and self-evaluation. Girls P. E. Goes A. V. Home Economics The main purpose of the Home Economics Depart- ment is to make the student aware of the interacting influence of home and community and of the individu- al responsibility of helping raise the standards of com- munity life.
