The team scored the highest score for a frosh-soph team in the history of the school with a total of 60.9. Freshmen Mike Dugo placed 1st in conference on the parallel bars, sopho- more joe Maino placed 1st in tumbling and Rick Davies placed 2nd on the tramp. Smith, Coach Bob Brown. Varsity Gymnastics The Varsity Gymnastics team held together very well through its toughest year. There were only 4 seniors on this year's team. The main part of last year's team had graduated and left an almost new varsity team. Norm Frey and joe Ecker were the team captains. Steve Davi- son and Ken Glassman were consistently high scorers and most valuable to the team. The team finished the season with a conference record of 1-5. LEFT: Ken Glasman on the parallel bar. L V K, . WON: 2 451 Place f Young Varsity Team Prepares For Next Year The 1970-71 Varsity swimming team had an off year with a record of 2-10. There were only 9 members on the team causing a lack of depth. However, with only one senior on this year's team, Coach Russell believes that they will have good top performers for next year although still be lacking depth. During the season, senior Mike Pyne set a new school record in the 200 yard freestyle event with a time of 2:00.5. He did this after being changed from a back stroker to a freestyler. Bob Korzenski, this year's team captain and most valuable player set a new record in the 400 yard freestyle event with a time of 4:22. Don Dickens is an above average butterfly stroker with po- tential to be a conference champion next year. LEFT: Varsity Swimming Captain Bob Korzenski.
