Dan Rogala lays the ball in against stiff competition. The freshman B team coached by Dan Meyer was also one of the best freshman teams in the history of the school. A valuable player and their team captain was Sandy Suidyla, Other valuable players were Larry Olson, Don Adam, joe Azzarretto, Bruce Kishch, Ken Kempton and Mike Lavery. Their conference record was 6-5, which put them in a fourth place finish. The team established the record of the longest game with four overtimes at Downers Grove South. They won the game 41-39. The Freshman 'A' Basketball team, coached by Ste- phen Sallee, was one of the best freshmen teams in the history of the school. The team developed the basic skills of basketball and finished with an 8-3 conference record which was a second place finish. The team, however, earned a respectable 4-3 conference record, and a 4th place finish. Five members were all-conference selec- tions. They were sophomores Rick Almada C983 and Ed Perry 11053, seniors Carter Coleman 41553, Ray Greeley C1853, and lim Paterob KHWT3. Ray Greeley was not only a conference champion, but a district champion, sec- tional champion, and went on to place 4th in the state.
