Berg, As- sistant Coach, Dave Pasquini. ik Vi gnola Leads Cross Country Team This year's Cross Country team, under the direction of their new head coach, Larry Crippin placed 5th in conference. Despite the low standing in the confer- ence, this year's team beat East Leyden and sent a run- ner downstate. Ralph Vignola, winner of the most valu- able runner award was the first runner in West Leyden history to compete downstate. Though Ralph was dis- appointed that he only placed 22 he can be proud of the fact that he's West Leyden's first entry..

Girls Become More Active In Sports Many girls took part in many of the different sports. They assisted the teams and encouraged them to win. Cheerleaders played a great part in leading cheers for the team. There were many scorers and timers that helped the other teams such as the Cross-Country Timers, Swim Timers, Wrestling Boosters, and Track Timers. This year was the first year for the Girl's Gymnastics Team. Many girls also found time to join the Girl's Tennis Team. It looks like 'Women's Liberation' has come to West Leyden. 4...
