Eakley, R Steffens Mr Glover B Greenqulst The varsity band is an intermediate group whose members later enter the concert band. They rehearse during school hours, for credit and perform at concerts. The orchestra consists of two segments, strings and complete orchestra. They are under the direction of Mr. Glover. Their major project of the year was the spring musical, Hello, Dolly. Preparation for the spring musical required much hard work and determination. They, also entered the state contest as a group and as individuals. Drill Team and Majorettes The drill team added a patriotic touch to the football games and also presented the colors of West Leyden in the numerous parades they marched in this year. They also presented Handel's Messiah, which has become a tradition for the Choir, and they attended the Mannheim Festival. Members of the Choir participated in the spring musical, Hello Dolly, and also the State Solo and Ensemble Contest. In the spring, the Choir participated in the University of Illinois Concert.
