To The Class of 1951 umgn IRST I want to say Congratulations not be cause of your receiving a diploma 1n the near future but because you have completed your high i school education This IS an important accomplishment especi ally in these days of tempting high paying Jobs and voluntary enlistments in one s choice of military branch If only everyone who started with your class back 1n ninth grade would have completed his education' Iam sure some of them are sorry now But you have no cause to be Maybe not now but later on you will realize how wise you were to remain in school You have done a service to your country by doing so This nation needs intelligent men and women people who can make intelligent decisions people who can read and interpret news intelli gently We need to carry on our democratic way of life in the face of the attempt to spread other desirable ways of life throughout the world Having completed your high school education makes you better able to keep our nation mentally and physically strong those qualities which are listed by the D A R in its project to select 'Good Citizens and I can think of no better way to say farewell than to review them again for you I Dependability Were you loyal to your high School? Will you be loyal to your college and loyal to your employer?
