R i C hard Lowe The members of the class of 1930 are preparing for their last year, ing to finish with a record of which they may be justly proud. The choosing of our class sweaters and presenting the Junior Play Sinks hop- were the two main events of the first semester. At the time of the jefferson-XYest Side football game the junior Class took over the sale of tickets and Got out a B good crowd, The class is looking forward to entertaining the Seniors at the annual reception. Our class has been very well represented in athletics and other activities. Several new members have entered our class, and we hope they will with us and graduate with the best class in the history of XYest Lafa High School, the Class of 1930. By noon everyone has a tendency for food. Thursday, 13-Priscilla starts out right by missing a whole period in Chemistry lab. Maybe she got lost in the big ha.ls. Friday, 14-One whole week gone. The Senior rings have arrived and everyone had to part with five dollars. Monday, 17-Millard overslept again. Too many late hours, Droop. Tuesday, 18-About fift'en freshmen had to show their greenness by getting into the Assembly by mistake. . Wednesday, 19-Just trying to get used to the old grind. Thursday, 20-Pep session. Beat Jeff next Satur- day. Friday, 21-Big bon-fire at West Side Field and snake dance. Saturday, 22-That was a good game even if we did have the smaller score. That was a fancy dive, Shorty. Monday, 24-Room 13 was nzughty and had to wait until all the lines had passed before leav- ing the building. Tuesday, 25-Sunshine initiation. Wednesday, 26-First candy sale of the year. Saturday, 29-Monticello-West Side game at Monticellop Score 7-6. OCTOBER, 1928 Tuesday, 2-Mr. Gardner tells Jay that he will help him clean up on Kenzler after Economics class. Is that nice? Ffililly, 5-Mr. Clark, frcm the Chamber of Com- merce, spoke to us in Convo. Saturday, 6gAttica-West Side game and we won, 27-0. Nice going. Monday, 8-The public speaking class is going to petition for desks in the Auditorium so we can make better grades on our tests. Tuesday, 9-Just tests, that's all. Wednesday, 10-Just tests, that's all. Thursday, Ile-Just tests, that's all. Friday, 12--Columbus Day. School starts at seven and a game at Lebanon in the afternoon. They won 12-0. Monday, 15-Just the morning after the night before. Wednesday, 17-First grade period report cards come out with bells on! An' how! Monday, 22-Back to the old grfnd again. Tuesday, 23-The Juniors are starting on the Junior play. Good luck! Wednesday, 24fWhere are those S5's? Welll Welll NOVEMBER, 1928 Thursday, 1-The Sunshine girls have a nice tea for Mrs. Sandler and mothers oi' the School. Monday, 5-Election of staff. Tuesday, 6--Smith or Hoover? Wednesday, 7-I wonder if we are getting the greatest advantage by tzking that test in Economics, or whether Mr. Gardner is putting something over on us. Hoover and Leslie are elected. Thursday, 84Pen session for the Jeff game. Dlll Gay has originated a new yell. HoW's this? He's a man! Who's a man! He's a West Side man! Davis l I l Friday. 9--We sure have a bunch of enLhusiast'c Juniors. They are hopping all over school try- ing to sell us tickets to the Jeff Hamel Saturday, 10-Jeff-West Side game. 7-7 and a good game. The town was painted white today. Monday, 12-Anyone who would like a good S50 Atwater-Kent radio for S35 see Lyndon Baldwin. Also a S5 Parker Duofold Pen for 34.50 see Lloyd Campbell. Tuesday, 13-Mr. Smith in Chemistry clfss, Har- riet, answer the next question without reading it Wednesday, 14--Dr. Harold Risk spoke to us in Convo. The 12B Economics class dfsagreed with the teacher in answer to the question: What two great principles were worked out during the industrial revolution? Anyone who can answer this question to the satisfaction of both te'cher and pupi's will be rewarded generously. Also: Report cards again. Also: We have new scenery for our stage.
