FOOTBALL On October 21, 1971, West's 9th and 8th grade football teams won all of their games. The 9th grade heavy weight team swept past Ontario beating the Tigers 20-0. This is the heavyweights' first win of the season. The lightweights rolled past Ontario by a victory of 52-14. - This made it the sixth consecutive win for them. The undefeated and unscored upon 8th grade heavyweight team beat Caldwell by a score of 24-O. The heaveyweights' record is 5-0-1. The lightweights crept past the Caldwell Cubs, beating them 6-0. The lightweights are 4-1-1. Rocke Acree of the heavyweights received the most votes for the Most Valuable Player award. Rocke played halfback at the beginning of the season and finished up playing quarterback. Acree Meridian O Caldwell 0 Central 0 scored nine touchdowns, leading his team in the touchdown depart- ment. Rocke played quarterback for the first time in the Ontario game. jimmy Valles of the lightweights, got the honors for Most Valu- able Player on the lightweight team. jimmy played halfback on offense.
