It cost approximately ! ' .51 S64, 000 to build the school. ln September, 1917, the building I - was opened as Nampa High School. fi, V ' 3 'f In 1956, the new high school was built and this building be- I j g, , V - came West junior High. This Year's 9th grade class will be the I 1 A Y last graduating class from West. The building will have served ' Nampa students for SS years. h , - - ln the spring of 1971, Nampa School District 0131 passed a bond issue to build two new junior high schools. They will be completed in August, 1972, just in time for the opening of the 1972 school year. These schools will hold 800-1200 students. The open classroom concept may be employed in these new facilities. The 9th grade heavy weight team swept past Ontario beating the Tigers 20-0. This is the heavyweights' first win of the season. The lightweights rolled past Ontario by a victory of 52-14. - This made it the sixth consecutive win for them. The undefeated and unscored upon 8th grade heavyweight team beat Caldwell by a score of 24-O. The heaveyweights' record is 5-0-1. The lightweights crept past the Caldwell Cubs, beating them 6-0. The lightweights are 4-1-1.
