THE W g OF A FI-O The December deadline moved closer Mr Tobey Stu dent Council sponser was always at hand gathering float and most of all workers Students worked on the auditorium stage for a week or so before moving to the Griffin s Grocery garage to complete and assemble the float Many hours were put in by Science teacher Gene Perkins who volunteered his help to make the float sucessful Many workers rode on the float or walked along it s side. The theme of this years float was A Christmas Carol . Miriam Person Student Council President rode on the rj. W, 1 float as the Christmas Carol character Ma Chratchit. Lamp post and carolers were a big part of this years float as were all the characters from the famous Charles Dick- en s Christmas story. The float placed 3rd in our division. Spanish was a popular elective this year. Besides learning how to speak the language, students stud- ied the Spanish speaking countries of the world and some of their customs.
