Michael Neel gives Teresa Watkins a boost as she gives a big cheer for the Eagles. David Napier carefully tools a piece of leather, which will later become a miniature saddle. Leathercraft is only one of the many interesting projects learned in the crafts class directed by Mr. Ed Gibson. Crafts students are introduced to copperart, decoupage, wood carving, mirror art, resin- casting, and more. The crafts couse is one of the most popular electives chosen by seventh, eighth and ninth graders. When we asked David why he decided to take this elective, he said, I've always been kind-of artistic and I like working with my hands. He also said that he really enjoys the class. 1Greg Payton, Valerie Batchelor, Alex Reynolds and April Baker stop for a shot in front of the West jr. High sign. The sign reads Temporary Home of West jr. High . The adjustment of moving to the vacated Sadler Annex was not an easy one, but we did it. The new West junior High School will be located at 56th street and Okmulgee and construction is scheduled to be finished in the Spring of 1982. STUDENTS ARE REACTING WITH MORE SPIRIT, ENERGY AND SCHOOL LOYALTY. ....-.Q Pausing for a pose, Karen Steele, an office aid, fills out the daily absentee list.
