The West Junior High School Choral program has two performing groups. The Concert Chorus is made up of eighth and ninth grade students who have a special interest in advanced Choral Music. The Seventh Grade Chorus is for seventh grade students with special singing abilities. These two groups have performed two concerts during the year. One was given at Christmas time and one was presented in the spring. A

Some 'thirty-six 8th and 9th grade students were nominated by a panel of teachers and Mr. Twigg, the organization's sponsor. Membership in the society carries with it the prestige and honor of belonging to a national organization. Mem- bership reflects high academic performance and the highest standards of citizenship, senlice, leadership, and character. Each year students with high academic grades are reviewed and the nominees are inducted at a spe- cial ceremony emphasizing the highest ideals of our educational system. V

Not Pictulreiiz t?:PenT?r?rcuLh.avIS I a ' Ei talent There are four bands at Westg Ca- det Band, which consists of 55 membersg Beginning Band, which consists of 30 members, Varsity Band, which has 53 members, and Concert Band. This year's Concert Band is the largest ever. It has 87 members. They work very hard and deserve congra- tulations on the fine job they have done this year. Some of their activities outside of school assemblies are, concerts, marching in the Taylor and Lincoln Park Memorial Day parades, which features the majorettes, and per- forming for visitors at Cedar Point with Varsity Band. Our bands would not be so terrific without their great leader, Mr. Buono. He is the ruling force behind their He reall helps them get it together.
