Jefferson Parish Players The Jefferson Parish Players Theatre, now in its eighth year of operation, was founded to bring living theatre to the stu- dents of the Jefferson Parish Public School System. In its ini- tial season, this organization of high school students pre- sented two plays for elemen- tary school students. Produc- tions have, from the beginning, been funded entirely through the sale of tickets which have remained at the same price since the inception of the pro- gram. In the second year of the program plays for the high schools were added to the sea- son. Currently, the organiza- tion presents six plays; two for the elementary schools, two in the middle schools, and two for the high schools of the parish. All performances are during school time and are available to all students in the public school system. Night perform- ances are scheduled for par- ents and faculties. This year ' s productions have been Godspell , Barefoot in the Park , and Alice in Won- derland . 78
