Miss Gwen Burns escorted by Mr. Rene Phillips. Miss Burns is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mel- vin Burns, Sr. She is enrolled in L. W. Higgins Stu- dent Practical Nursing program and serves as Vice-President. She hopes to further her career in Nursing. Mr. Phillips is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Phillips. He is serving as Sergeant at Arms for the National Honor Society and is a member of the Student Council, Debate Club and Chess Club. We ' re here the Buccaneers. Miss Kathy Acosta escorted by Mr. John Sergi. Miss Acosta is the daughter of Mr. Robert Acosta and Mrs. Ray Pendleton. She is enrolled in the Lab Tech II program at West Jefferson High School and works part time as a student Lab Technician at Red Star Yeast. At L. W. Higgins High School Kathy is a member of the Science Club. Mr. Sergi is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sergi, Sr. John is presently serving as Senior Class Vice-President. He has been a member of the basketball team for 4 years and is now the cap- tain of the team. He is Secretary for The National Honor Society. 71

Higgins Senior Class and a member of the Student Council. Mr. Permillion is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry J.
