Miss Angela McPherson escorted by Mr. Gary Permillion. Miss McPherson is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin McPherson, Sr. She is an active member of the L. W. Higgins Senior Class and a member of the Student Council. Mr. Permillion is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry J. She is enrolled in the West Jef- ferson Lab Tech II program and works part time at Delta Commodities as a student Lab Techni- cian. Mr. Boston is the son of Lt. Col. and Mrs. Ger- ald Wayn Boston. Miss Sheilah McGinnis escorted by Mr. John Flores. Miss McGinnis is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McGinnis. She is captain of the West Jef- ferson Cheerleader Squad. Sheilah is a member of the L. W. Higgins Gymnastics Team and serves as president of the Girls Athletic Association. Mr. Flores is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest R. Flores, Sr. He is our Student Council President. John is also enrolled in the Co-operative Office Education program and serves as Parliamenta- rian of Future Business Leaders of America. There is only room for one Buccaneer, the WEST JEFFERSON BUCCANEER!! Miss Donna Johnson escorted by Mr. Gregory Lawrence. Miss Johnson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Johnson. She is enrolled in the L. W. Hig- gins Distributive Education program and serves as Treasurer. Donna also is a semi-finalist of the Miss West Jefferson Pageant. Mr. Lawrence is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Lawrence. He has been a member of the Student Council for two years and is presently serving as Secretary. Miss Gwen Burns escorted by Mr. Rene Phillips. Miss Burns is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mel- vin Burns, Sr. She is enrolled in L. W. Higgins Stu- dent Practical Nursing program and serves as Vice-President. She hopes to further her career in Nursing. Mr. Phillips is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Phillips. He is serving as Sergeant at Arms for the National Honor Society and is a member of the Student Council, Debate Club and Chess Club. We ' re here the Buccaneers. Miss Kathy Acosta escorted by Mr. John Sergi. Miss Acosta is the daughter of Mr. Robert Acosta and Mrs. Ray Pendleton. She is enrolled in the Lab Tech II program at West Jefferson High School and works part time as a student Lab Technician at Red Star Yeast. At L. W. Higgins High School Kathy is a member of the Science Club. Mr. Sergi is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sergi, Sr. John is presently serving as Senior Class Vice-President. He has been a member of the basketball team for 4 years and is now the cap- tain of the team. He is Secretary for The National Honor Society. 71
