Mrs. Cyrus (Anite) Currault retired from the Jefferson Parish School system after 34 years of service with no sabbatical leave and an almost perfect attendance record. When the high schools were consolidated in 1955, Mrs. Currault became a mem- ber of the first faculty at West Jefferson High, a position she held for 23 years as a business education and journalism teacher and director of student activities. During the years that she sponsored The Buccaneer, the school yearbook, and The Jolly Roger, the school newspaper, both publications received numerous awards. Mrs. Currault organized and co-sponsored the first Future Business Leaders of America chapter in the Greater New Orleans area. For many years Mrs. Currault had worked with young people and had many hon- ors bestowed upon her. We will miss her dearly.
