D.E. Learns The Distributive Education organization is a very progressive and hard-working group. The club on campus which probably gets out to the public the most is the Distributive Education club. Members in this club hold exclusive rights of earning credits in school while holding jobs during school hours. The members are chosen on vocational understanding, civic consciousness, social intelligence and leadership development. Creative Writing The creative writing club has been formed in the interest of the kindling of hearts of the students of West Jefferson is the warmth of true literary genius. FBLA The Future Business Leaders of America is a national organization for all high school students participating in the business and office programs in the Business Education Department. West Jefferson has the distinct honor of hold- ing Chapter number 277, the 1st chapter organ- ized in the New Orleans area by Mrs. Anite Cur- rault. Members participated in contest on the district, state and national levels. This year the West Jef- ferson Chapter is running a candidate for District VIII Vice-President. Louisiana will host the 1979 National Leadership Conference in New Orleans at the Hilton Hotel. FBLA gives the students an insight into the competitive side of the business world through its business related contests. Mrs. Kay Stiles and Mrs. Bertha Shiloh serve as sponsors. Front to Back.
