fi' lifes! ,jqferson Q ,ssumes ,JOQ1CdfIOHdfLTQd0QfS540 Hundreds of students and teachers from the Greater New Orleans area took part in separate educational meetings on Saturday, February 14, The activities, held simultaneously included the fourth annual Southeastern district FBLA meeting and a reading clinic sponsored by the Science Research Associates. Pur- pose of the reading clinic was to acquaint teachers with the methods of multilevel reading practices. Principals in the fourth annual Southeastern District FBLA meeting were: Miss Gladys Peck, seated, state supervisor of Business Educa- tion, Standing: Lloyd Faust, Jr., Holy Cross, district vice president, Bobby Hayes, Lake Charles, president, and Richard Clanton, assistant state supervisor, Conferring at the reading clinic are Miss Ruth Pitre, John Virden, Sr., Sister Mary Pertrine, S, S, N, D., Miss Marietta Pereira and Brother August. Serving coffee for participants in the daylong sessions were these members of the Junior Classical League of West Jefferson High, Seated is Mary Landridge. Standing, from left, are Jerrie DeSalvo, Zola Thibodeaux, Mrs, Lela M. Crawford, hostess, Joseph J. Martina, principal, and Marie Martina, Pat Lawson and Myrna Parent.

Q14 One of the most popular information centers for girls, however, were those of professional model- ing schools, where they saw demonstrations in modeling and received information on the qualifications and training neccessary and potential of such a career. For the boys, the engineering and chemical firms had a special attraction. Very few boys passed up the centers set up by the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. The assembly program featured entertainment by the glee club of St. Mary's Dominican college, A charming nurse makes a hard career very attractive.
