Here is how the future looks to us: We see Betsy Cahoon in Seventeen magazine modeling the latest style bathing suits. KayCuthrell, now Mrs. Bennett Emory, is busy keeping her own nursery in Swan Quarter. Emily Lou Cahoon, making her home in Raleigh, is secre¬ tary to her husband ' s private law firm. We see JuneJennette employed at the DuPont Plant in Kin¬ ston. At the office she is head typist, bookkeeper, and filing clerk. Barbara Pegram, Mrs. Edward O ' Neal, is making her home in Florida, where she is secretary to a large fruit factory. Lorraine Potter, who made good use of her high school typ¬ ing, is secretary to the president of East Carolina College. Annie Mae Pittman is employed at the Hugh Fortescue In¬ surance Agency in Washington. Joseph Cahoon, a major in mathematics and French, is teaching at the University of North Carolina. We see Joe Frank Sadler turned out to be the most success¬ ful farmer in Hyde County. He and his wife make their home near Mattamuskeet Lake. Jimmy Armstrong, stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, is doing well in his Army career. Hal McGee, a graduate from West Point Military Academy, is a highr anking officer in the Army. Jimmy McKinney chose the Air Force as his career. He was the first man to explore the moon ' s surface. Glenn O ' Neal, a big cattle owner, owns almost all the land in Hyde County. He inspects the herds everyday in a high speed airplane. Linda Gay Carawan is employed as an airline hostess by Trans World Airlines and is seeing the world by air. Leonard Harris is head of an employment agency in Raleigh. He employs hundred of people each day. In 1971 we see allfifteen members of the class of 1961, seat¬ ed with their families around a banquet table at Mattamuskeet Lodge, celebrating the tenth anniversary of their graduation.
