Cast Will and ZestameMt We, the Senior Class of Nineteen Hundred and Fifty-three of Swan Quarter High School, in the County of Hyde, the State of North Carolina, being of sound mind, and realizing our im¬ pending departure from this school, do hereby declare and make this our Last Will and Testa¬ ment. ARTICLE I We give and leave to the Juniors our well-known nerve, which they will need next year, and all the examination questions we have been given during the past year. ARTICLE II To our good friends, the Sophomore class, we leave our patience. It will be found useful as the only means by which they can endure the Juniors. ARTICLE III To the Freshmen we leave our place in the lunch line. We think they have been last long enough. ARTICLE IV To Mrs. Harris we leave all our appreciation and thanks for her guidance as our annual and class advisor. ARTICLE V The Item 1 . Item 2. Item 3. Item 4. Item 5. Item 6 . Item 7. Item 8. Swindell wills his ability to drive and repair an A-Model to anyone who will take the risk. Lavons Austin leaves his dry wit to Milton Pittman. Anne Shelton leaves her seat on the scorekeeper ' s bench to Rosetta Spencer and hopes she will use it to her best ability. Roy Garrish leaves his winning ways with the girls and teachers to Roger Swindell. Merlin Berry leaves his curls to Jimmy Spencer. Are you sure you can spare them, Merlin ? Kay Bell leaves her basketball suit and height to Sybil Swindell. Ralph Hodges leaves his lost books to whoever can find them. Wayne McKinney leaves his height to be divided between Billy Joe Cutrell and Jimmy Brickhouse. Odessa Williams leaves, and if she leaves anything worth while, it is to be divided among the Juniors. Travis Sadler leaves his crew hair cut to Murray Cartwright. Christine Hudson leaves her Wake Forest spirit to Argie Lee Payne, and hopes that Argie Lee will really join her at Wake Forest. Jane Midyette leaves her ability to laugh at nothing to Doris Tunnell. Ella Lou Cahoon leaves her senior mantle of dignity to Jane Harris. Wendell Williams bequeaths his love for geometry to Ben Blake. Grey Hopkins leaves his quiet, easy-going way to Floyd Williams. Pratt Williamson, Jr., bequeaths his knowledge of rules and facts to Ralph Swindell. Peggy Gibbs wills her ability to memorize to all those Algebra II students who have so much trouble memorizing rules and definitions. Helen Gibbs leaves her ambition to all those who attend school because they have to attend. Besides these bequests, we leave our best wishes to any and all who may desire them. Finally, we do hereby name and appoint as the sole executor of this, our Last Will and Testament, our principal, Mr. Gay.
