THE 1978-79 ANNUAL STAFF PRESENTS West Hopkins High School Nebo, Ky 42441 Vol. XVII The 1978-79 Annual Staff proudly dedicates the ’’Rebel” to our principal, Mr. A.O. Richards. Mr. Richards began his teaching career at seventeen and taught four years at Elam and one year at Fiddle Bow. He started at Dalton as principal when he was twenty-two. Except for six years, he was at Dalton from 1936 until 1962, when he moved to West Hopkins. He received both his B.A. and M.A. degrees from Western Kentucky University. Mr. Richards has been married to Nell Frazer Richards for forty-one years. He has three daughters, two granddaughters, and one grandson. Two of his daugh- ters teach at West Hopkins and the other at Dalton Elementary School. He has always been involved in community and school activities. He is a fine educator and dedicated friend. The FBLA Club promotes Free Enter- prise and offers many educational opportuni- ties for students. This year the FBLA Club at West Flopkins has been busy participating in varied activities. At the Fall Festival, the club sponsored an auction, and at Thanksgiving, they gave a basket of food to a local family, In March, they attended the Region I Conference held at Murray State University. There, they competed against other schools in the region and Melanie Bowles placed fifth in Typing II.
