By the end of the year, however, we were recovered enough to take a class trip to Beech Bend. Our sophomore year found us more familiar with the school and its activities. The main events included a sock hop and another class trip - this time to Opryland. Our junior year, when Earlington joined us, was the busiest including many money-making activities as we determined to sponsor the best prom ever. Weeks of work preceded the May 14th date when the gymnasium became the setting for the theme Ours to Remem- ber” with entertainment from the Nashville band Hot Dan- cin.” Our work had been rewarding! Even though mother nature delayed our graduation with a winter of snow and canceled school days, our senior year, long anticipated, passed far too quickly.
