The B team consisted of Shirley Labelle Kcaptainlg Jeanette Baird, Joan Briscoe, Amy Dunlop, Judi Collinge, Louise Hourston, Marilyn Kyba, Anne Hankin, Diane Mayhew, Ruth Crites, Ruth Crammond, Margaret Harris, Helen Mc- Nichol, Josie Oupcher, Sandra Playford, Marilyn Singer falt. captainl, Sherrill Rand, Sherrill Newman, Heather Lang, Sue Richardson. The team was successful because of the fine coaching of Miss Gilmore, to whom the girls extend their thanks. Judi Collinge. SENIOR SWIMMING This year the inter-school swimming meet was held at West Hill, on Thursday, December 1. West Hill's senior team came through with flying colours as they captured the Herschorn Trophy for the fifth consecutive year. Our championship team consisted of: Bar- bara Lapin Ccaptainl, Bonnie Conklin, Jennifer Chanter, Sherrill Rand, Dawn Champion, Gail Whittaker, Margaret Harris, Barbara Coutts, and Pat Orser fmanagerl. The senior swimming classes were held on Thursday afternoons, and were well attended by girls of all abilities. The success of the swimming season was due to the fine leadership and coaching of Miss Phelan to whom the girls extend their thanks. Dawn Champion INTERMEDIATE BASKETBALL The intermediate girls' basketball tourn- ament was held at Montreal High School in two sections, on February 13th and on February 22nd. Six teams took part in it, and the West Hill teams, by winning three and losing two, did very well. The A team consisted of: Gwen Byrd, Nancy Hankin, Barbara Hue, Marilyn Cohen, Judy Lamb, Margaret Grieve, Roberta Coutts, and Shirley Szebik. The girls on the B team were: Martha Wilson, Diane Warren, Janet Sauve, Rhoda Rich- ler, Hannah Schoel, Irene Brakefield-Moore, Diane Elliot, Diane Davies, Barbara Werner, Thelma Shaposnick, Sue Cape, and Pat Rodger. The good showing of our team was due to the fine coaching of Miss Phelan, to whom the girls extend their thanks. INTERMEDIATE SWIMMING The inter-school swimming championships were held at the West Hill Hig School pool on December lst. Monklands High School and Montreal West High School tied for first place, with West Hill and Westmount Jr. tied for second, only three points behind the leaders. West Hi1l's team, under the coaching of Miss Gilmore, made a good showing, and were tough competition for all other teams taking part. The team consisted of: Nancy Hankin, Irene Brakefield-Moore, Judy Lamb, Diane Warren, Marcia Pickens, Roberta Coutts, Margaret Grieves, Gwen Byrd Ccapt.J.
