Ile seems to have the law of averages working in his favour. LAWRENl'E DOCZY Box Vanity, vanity, all is vanity. Naturally, we all bug Ilox about the golden splendour of his hair, which he resents, but not enough to take the drastic step of having it cut. One of I'op's dazed scholars, Lawrence relaxes from the tension of trying to follow the great man through his labyrinth of matheIn,at.iea.l monstrosities by playing Danny an epic game of ping-pong, which, by the way, is a struggle worth watching. DAVID DUNKERLEY Dunk I hate girls and I'm glad I hate them, because if I didn't, l'd like them and waste my time on them, and I just IIATE girls l We wonder if Dunk's stringent anti-feminist policies are the result. of too little experience, or too much. This lanky, genial veteran of the football team had a bad moment one afternoon when he un- wittingly walked down the hall with a large sign on his back, which read, To rent, A louer, IIA. 7171 . RONALD DYCK Dick This tall. friendly. and distinguished gentle- man made the long move from Arvida. to West Ilill. Judging from the bemused glances east at the gleaming perfection of Dox's hairdo, we think he cherishes the secret ambition of shaving it all down to the roots. Can you imagine? Doczy, without any hair? Oy, perish the thought. .IULYAN FRANCOTT Beneath a surface calm and serene, A sweet disposition is easily seen. Montreal West High's proud boast is clever Julyan and she's certainly carrying on the same tradition here at West llill. Her plans for the future are unsure but whatever she choses to he she's sure to be a success at it. BOB GALL Scotty An enthusiastic supporter of the Back Row Club' and all its nefarious activities, this braw laddie goes by the maxim that if one imbibes. one becomes iuebriated. and governs himself accordingly. Being a gentleman to the tip of his toe-nails. though not of the Southern variety, we predict this verse for his tomstone, Beneath this stone I'm forced to lie, A victim of the Spanish fly. N.B.-The Spanish fly is not an insect. RON GARGANO Bon Watch this kid-he's dynamite. Nimble Ron. along with his fellow Lacliinians. McCormbe and Short. is the arch-enemy of the Back Row Club. Between periods, a hail of chalk. old rubbers, bits of the furniture and assorted missiles descends on the hack of the room. Being doorman. Ron has the unfair ad- vantage of knowing when the teachers are coming. which portentous knowledge he just never bothers to convey to the opposition. Wotta bum! MARGARET IIARTLEY Small in stature, great in guilc, Mischief lurks in cvcry smile. Rusty and Marg are the class question askers. They ask every question we ever need to know in maths. bettering the rest of our nowledge, Like Doris. Marg plans to go into nursing and if they end up in the same hospital, there should be a small riot. GEORGE llE'I'lll'lRINGTON George When in danger or in doubt Run in circles, scream, and shout. This rare specimen hails from a remote hug- junction called Montreal West. Ile has the perpetually stunned expression of just having crawled out from under a rock, though all agree a piercing intellect is concealed behind that owlish expression. Ilis ambition is to get a haircut, and in this. as in all his future pur- suits, we wish him luck. RONALD IIITCIILOCK If brains were shoes, this lad would be barefoot all the way to his knees. Ron is one of those who believes in doing things in a big way, and figures if one is going to flunk, one can at least flunk royally. With this in mind, Ron hit the jack pot with Il double eighteen in his maths. Nice grouping, anyway. Ron passes his time casually beating up poor George. and voices the original opinion of wanting to be an engineer. BILL IIOWES Bill This debonair, artistic. and altogether ro- markable fellow hails from the Lakeshore, and sits quietly in the front, ready at any moment to brea kout in his devilish grin. We know he spent the summer at Ayer's Cliff, and judging by the tales emanating from that vicinity, has learned his way around the simian world. If he follows through on his early artistic promise. he just might go somewhere. GARY HUNNISETT Ilunn Let's have a paaaarty- Ruddy big paaarty ll Ain't it a shame To be ruddy well dead! Ilunn used to be a great exponent of Nature and the outdoor life, but since the end of the hunting season, he has taken up with gay abandon the life of twinel. women and song. Norm is one of our seintillating examples of sehizophrenia, to put it mildly. At times he almost reeks the eontinental atmosphere ol' the dashing young playboy - you know, Harris tweeds, skiing. sport ears, that sort of thing. Mostly though. he just sits baek and sueeumbs to the lazy, good-for-nothing outlook of the All- Amerit-an bum. We ean't say whieh post suits his nature better, but he eertainly looks more eomfortable in the latter.

ERNEST .ltlllNS Ernie Another nf West llill's own, Ernie claims the distinction of knowing all the verses to North Atlantic Squadron . This, along with a few equally ehoiee selections, comments by Dave and lan. joes by Shortt. and phony stories by Wood, when present, comprises the average noon- hour. The singing visually stops just in time to see Mr. and Mrs. Richards alighting from the Tl!-2, whereupon all rush to the window to cheer the happy couple up the front walk. OLIVIA KlMl'TON Libby From Weston School eomes this fair lass Who certainly brightens up our class. In llistory she is Miss Wilson's delight llecausc she answers the questions right. Libby many witticisms are often the cause of giggling in 209, especially if l!ev's around. ller vocabulary is terrific and sometimes even amazes Doctor Leflaire. Libby is doing very well here and will do equally well at college next year. llEVl'1Rl.EY KNAPI' Rev A gay companionable friend Like lluckngham a perfect blend, liev's gay laughter usually fills the air in Grade Xll. We at the back wonder how she gets away with hat talking so close to the teacher's nose. lt's quite a skill!
