Warner HUMAW REL TIGNS The Human Relations Club is more than just any old club. lt's goal is to get you to search deep inside your soul to answer the eternal question: Why you are what you are? This year they spon- sored a canned food drive to benefit the poor, the starving, the needy, and the hungry with a pizza party going to the homeroom with the most cans. Ioe Thomas and loan Lerman have brought meaning to all of the lives they have reached with this class club. lxffx' i-x Row 1: johnny Winston, Nichelle Nichols, Althea Washington-Lin, Tony Bogess, Ingo Re nold Sarah Lolton, Kevin Salter. Anyone can submit works to Ms. Palmer or the staff, which will then be evaluated by three judges. Works with high composite scores are printed in the Tapestry publication to be sold during Fine Arts Week. West is lucky to have some- one like Ms. Palmer, who is will- ing to work hard to give stu- dents the opportunity to put to- gether a fine collection of their own literature.

i When you walk into room 325, you usu- A T ally see a multitude of people tutoring and being tutored. Mrs. Karen Waggoner has set up an excellent system in which stu- dents having trouble in any subject from health to calculus can get help during any hour of the day. Through patience on the part of the tutor and hard work on the part of the tutee, the students' grades usually rise significantly. In addition to the reward- ing tutorial experience, tutors and students can earn up to M credit a year. 'Yi -v-s-r- ' 4. Xcizf A N411 .. Every Tuesday and Thursday these people alledgedly play chess. They deny all rumors concerning this group: no one, repeat, NO ONE has been injured seriously yet at chess club. They have never received significant mone- tary aid from highly placed Soviet ambassa- dors. If you have any information to the contrary please relay it to john Arrington so he can cover it up. In addition to chess, members play Risk, strange variations of chess, speak Russian, and perform physics experiments on freshmen.
