I TER ATIO AL CLUB Composed of students from all over the world, the International Club has succeeded in helping the foreign students at West feel more comfortable in an American atmosphere. About half of the members are United States- born West High students, and the other half consists of foreign exchange students, refu- gees, and immigrants, many from Eastern or Southern Asia. The group's main function is to have parties .... lots of parties, to celebrate Halloween to picnic, to play volleyball, to go ice skating, etc. About twenty of one hundred seven members, led by junior Gwenneth Jones, meet weekly to plan these galas. The group also went to the Milwaukee Folk Fair, a trip not offered to West foreign language stu- dents, which ofcourse set off a typical protest. However, this did not dampen the spirit of the International Club, which has done an excel- lent job of realizing its goal. This year's Graduation Com- mittee is really enthusiastic over the class of 1986's commence- ment. As one member put it, the committee is a bunch of wholesome, hardy, hardworking seniors doing our darndest to make this the best graduation ever. Headed by Mr. Colucci, the committee has been working since fall to put commencement together. They divided into groups to work on different as- pects of graduation. The groups include: guest speakers, student speakers, cards, and announce- ments, caps and gowns, music, and martials. One group that doesn't actually fall under the ceremony itself is that of Senior Skitfstudent awards, which is part of the senior party. With the graduation committee work- ing so hard, 1986 will be a year the Seniors will remember. GRADUATION COMMITTEEXZS
