MOVIE CREW Members of Movie Crew, numbering eighteen Senior High boys, carry out the important school service of projecting educational films. Usually t'he films are shown in room 101, although sometimes they must be projected in individual classrooms. In addition to showing movies during school hours, the crew also projects films for such organizations as I-Ii-Y, P.T.A., Y-Teens, and the Audubon Society. Director of the club was Iim Kurtz. Brandenburg. 26 CLUB LIBRARY CLUB This year twenty-nine students performed the many necessary library duties. Among these duties are the checking in and out of books, checking and writing out library slips, shelving books, straightening the tables and chairs, listing book fines, and doing any other jobsthat Miss Peplinski, the Senior High librarian, might want done. OFFICE WORKERS The many duties of the oflice Workers include tending the switchboard, answering the phones, re- ceiving and delivering messages, sorting out the mail, putting notices in t'he teachers' boxes, recording permits, checking attendance slips, and doing other routine ofhce Work. The girls who belong to this school service club have their choice of either school credit or activity points for the hours they work.

USHERS' CLUB Among the many services that Ushers' Club per- forms are maintaining order at t'he athletic events, ushering at the school plays and P.T.A. meetings, and checking coats at dances. Ushers' Club is under the guidance of Mr. Bondhus. OH'icers for the first and second semesters were as follows: president, Rick Maxheldg head ushers, Fred I-leivilin and Iohn Fitzgeraldg secreatry-treas- urers, Iim Shipe and Bob Rogersg sergeant-at-arms, Glenn Mickow. PEP CLUB Promoting good sportsmanship and more school spirit are the main objectives of Pep Club. The girls give pep auds for the football and basketball home games, and charter buses for the away games. Pep Club also makes and sells pom-poms and crowns and publicizes the athletic events. Mr. Paugh is the club's adviser. The ollicers for the first semester were president, Ann Koch, vice president, Nancy Grosshrrndlerg sec- retary, Hope Dahleg treasurer, Trudy Iohnson. For the second semester they Were: president, Lori Lar- son, vice-president, IoAnn Friedman, secretary, Kathy Taylor, treasurer, Margaret Sy. OFFICIALS' CLUB Officials' Club's main goal is to organize and en- courage participation in all GAA activities: bowling, curling, basketball, volleyball, softball, tennis, and golf. Included in its activities are selling pins, beanies, and West High emblems. Ofhcials' Club sponsors a city-wide high school Play-Day. Miss Loeiler is the clubis adviser. STAGE CREW Stage Crew's primary purpose is to serve the school's needs in connection with backstage production. It also creates and maintains an interest in drama and its production. This club is, no doubt, the busiest and most active at West. Its two biggest assignments this year were the senior speech students' fall play, What A Life, and the spring play, Mrs. McThing. The individual crews co-operated in working on the P.T.A. show, Teahouse of the P.T.A. , as well as on the speech class plays at the end of the First semester. Stage Crew members also worked on the Winter and Spring Concerts, all of the auditorium programs, special Y-Teen Club program, and the Girls' Club Style Show. They provided lighting and public address systems for dances. Stage Crew closed down its season by performing its usual duties at the Seniors' Class Night and at the 1958 graduation ceremony. Stage manager for the year was Iohn Torpy. Vice- presidents were Bill Ferris and Iim Schwalbachg secre- taries were Trudy Iohnson and Kathy Taylor, the assist- ant stage manager was Neal D'Orazio. Mrs. McCarty and Mr. Tews advise Stage Crew.
