J , k, L Mrs. Roberts The world involving protractors, slide rules, and compasses usually posed a big threat to be- ginning students in mathematics. Analyzing and solving everyday geometry problems taught logic and reasoning which would be useful for a lifetime. Well, I flunked another one, was a familiar sigh for students as they came out of their classes. lVlost students, however, finally under- stood Iogarithms and square roots and contin- ued to another troubling year in senior math. Actually, for most students, the math depart- ment was not quite so difficult, and they learned a great deal of the ever changing world of num- bers. 24 Marty Warwick evidently went through the fifth grade Boy, l'd hate to carry that around all day!
