DEDICATION Russell was blessed with parents who helped fill his days with joy. His suffering was lessened by beautiful memories of yesterdays. His each today was meaningful. His school work showed a zest for excellence. And although he could not play at sports, he loved many. Coach McNaught would list Russell among the best basketball managers he ever had for his team. I'd say Russell was a champion without ever handling the ball. As a faculty member, I would say that perhaps Russell taught us as much as we taught him. Lessons such as courage, caring, and concern for others. We need more young men like Russell and we truly miss him. ' I've seen Fire G I've seen Rain --Mr. Whitehead I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end. I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend, But I always thought that I'd see you again. Russell Comire was a walking symbol of courage. In spite of all his handicaps, he was able to lead a happy life, full of achievement. He was put on this earth as a gift to make us realize how well off we really are to be living a happy and healthy life. --Cheryl Lee I am saddened deeply by his passing. He was my friend; a braver, more courageous person I have never met. I miss him. --Lou Pezzi ... a fine young man who possessed courage, pride and desire. Despite living with an awareness of death, he cummunicated enthusiasm and love for life as he shared a zestful approach to academics, a true appreciation for music, and a genuine love for sports. —Jay Ryan It is with great sorrow that we remember the passing of those who were friends of ours. The late Russell Comire, a former classmate, was admired by students and teachers alike because of his courageous lifestyle. Mrs. Whitehead will be deeply missed by all; her dedication to her work was untiring. The passing of Del Mondor, head custodian and friend to everyone, left us all in deep sadness. These few words can barely express the feelings we have for these people. 3

It is not I that belong to the past, but the past that belongs to me. America is the youngest of the nations and inherits all that went before in history. And I am the youngest of America's children, and into my hands is given all her priceless heritage, to the last white star espied through the telescope, to the last great thought of the philosopher. Mine is the whole majestic past, and mine is the shining future. -Mary Antin 5
