Paul Mazza Vivienne Cote — Department Head FOREIGN LANGUAGE The Foreign Language of West Senior High School offers to student’s the opportunity to study French, Spanish, Italian German, and Latin. The aim is to develop a student’s ability in the four basic skills of these languages with particular emphasis on the speaking — comprehension skills, making it possible for students to communicate in a language other than their own. A language laboratory is an important asset in developing the oral-aural skill of any given language and the one at West High is popular with all the students. At West High School, it is also the objective of teachers in this department to enrich the student’s understanding of the culture of the people whose language they are studying and whose country they may one day visit. 17 Paulette Sepul
