Principal’s Message MEMORIES REMEMBER—the eventful day 3 years ago when you entered the halls of West High School for the first time? There was an air of bewilderment perhaps, mixed with qualms, fears, expectation, and determination. Everything was different, new faces, new teachers, new associations. Gradually, after a period of orientation, school life settled down and the race for academic supremacy was on. REMEMBER—the school activities, the social affairs, the athletic contests, all contributing to the social life of the school, all with some measure of enjoyment and relaxation. Perhaps too there were little disappointments, seemingly tragic at the time, but now all mellowed and practically forgotten with the passing of time. REMEMBER—the ties and the friendships you have made, some of which will endure forever, others may not. You have made an indelible imprint upon the history of the school, and the classmates who have helped and contributed to the outstanding record of this class of 1964 should be knitted together more closely because of their share in compiling this record. REMEMBER—as you go your separate ways, that even as you enter other fields of endeavor or institutions of higher learning, and form other ties and friendships, you should never forget your Alma Mater and the happy years you spent therein. We of the faculty and staff will never forget you, and the contribution you have made to the glorious history of West High. We wish for all of you success and happiness in your future careers. Thomas J. Moriarty, Principal 8
