After serving in World War I, Mr. Dimlich began teaching in the Pawtucket School System. Since the opening of West High School, seventeen years ago, he has played an important role in developing the minds of many students in each graduating class. Very recently his mathematics club was honored by the National High School and Junior College Mathematics Club. His students admire his superior intelligence in the field of math- ematics and respect him for his sincere devotion to his profession. Therefore, we, the class of 1958, expressing our gratitude in the greatest way we 3 know, hereby dedicate our yearbook to Mr. Herbert C. Dimlich.

Dear Class of 1958: We salute the eighteenth class to be graduated from West Senior High School. Your senior year has been the dawn of the Space Age. Satellites, Space Rockets, and planned travel to other planets have become the realized dreams of the scientists. In this age, as in every previous age, it behooves us to keep in mind the dignity of man and his relationship to the Infinite. While great emphasis is presently being given to the role of science in our lives, I would urge you to keep a well-balanced perspective so that we may continue to be a great democracy with strong regard for the individual. I hope that your generation will continue the great American traditions of personal liberty, personal responsibility, and justice for each individual. Your parents and teachers have given you the training and guidance for adult life. We know that you will reflect great credit on your families and school in your future endeavors. The faculty and I extend to all of you a sincere wish for a successful and happy life. Sincerely, Charles E. Shea, Principal
