For some of you it has been your first year in high school. It has been for many of you a year of growth and progressg and for many of you who are graduating it will be your last year of school. Regardless of your classification -freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior - each of you has contributed some- thing towards the achievements of the school year 1957-58. Some of you have contributed littleg some, moreg others have worked untiringly for the welfare of the school. You alone have set down in your own way and in your own yearbook iust what has been done and who have been the doers. What one will pass over and ignore, another will cherish and dwell upon in happy memory. Looking to the time when you will use your yearbook to assist you in reminiscences of your high school days, we can but congratulate you and wish for all of you a Pres. The Troian has always been an important factor in record- ing the history of West High, reflecting as it should the spirit which has meant so much to our students and our community. In keeping with this spirit, l admonish each of you to strive, to seek, to find and not to yield. The editors and sponsor of this volume are to be commended for this ex- cellent publication, y WWW Go, little book, and wish to all Flowers in the garden, meat in the hall. I borrow Robert Louis Stevenson's lines because they express my wish for you.
