Donald G Olson B S M S Assistant Principal Assistant Principal leaders develop empathy, enforce rules Essential people in West's administration are Mr. Donald Olson and Mr. Howard Roe, the Assistant Principals. lVlr. Olson's main duties are in supervision of student activities and clubs and attendance problems. Mr. Roe's primary concern is West's l.B.lVl. computer information system. He is in charge of the student attendance program. All three principals join together to form a concise, practical team of administrators in West's modern educational system. W The new Assistant Principal, Mr. Howard Roe, patrols the halls during the passing periods and discourages early departures during class time.

Running errands or patroling the halls is made easier by the use of the Pioneer wagon. principal assumes duties in many areas Behind each up-to-date educational system stands a group of busy administrators. West is fortunate in having such a staff, headed by Dr. Edwin Friesen. During the summer, Dr. Friesen taught two classes in administration at Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, Illinois. On his return to Wichita, Dr. Friesen resumed the several church and civic duties which he assumes in addition to his work as a busy high school principal. The services performed by the administra- tion are as varied as the problems West stu- dents face. With his training and years of practical experience, Dr. Friesen has proven that he and his staff can cope with any prob- lem, student or faculty, that may arise.
