It is eternally old and yet as vibrantly new as each E class which enters on hesitant feet. It is a little older when a class which Q has spent three years under her shelter departs. I Yesterday that spirit and all the fine principles constituting West were being builded and molded carefully by the students for a better and finer future. + Today the world is changing. All eyes are cast toward the latest produc- E tions and inventions in the realm of geophysics, and we find ourselves to be i citizens living on the brink of a new era. Satellites soar, speculation about 5 space travel is on all lips, and we try to condition our minds to accept the new I discoveries which are on our horizon. , As the world is being constantly subjected to progress and change, for L creating the world which must be on hand to meet the needs of coming genera- I V g tions, so must we, the students of today, progress and grow. Through the traditions which we build, the customs which we follow, and the necessary rules by which we abide, we hold the foundation for tomorrow. This foundation i is one which must not be allowed to vibrate under the added responsibilities 1 of the new age. 4 To you, the students of TODAY, we dedicate the 1958 TRAIL with challenge, and to you, the citizens of TOMORROW, we 'lo k with hopes for a structure worthy of such a foundation.
