RUTH FREY ROBERT GRAHAM Physical Education Business Education Department Head The Homemaking Department encourages students to learn to apply pertinent facts and concepts, to make decisions and choices in the light of values that are important for personal and family well being. They learn to work competently in the home through development of essential homemaking skills, and to make long-time plans for personal and family living based on an understanding of what life can become if resources now available are used effectively. Besides foods classes for both boys and girls, there are cloth- ing, tailoring, and personal living classes. Home and society, home management,home decoration, and child care and develop- ment classes are offered. Students majoring in these subjects may graduate fully prepared to enter the business world. An understanding of business and industry is developed that students will be insured some measure of success in their first jobs, and have a better chance for future promotions. The student not planning to make a career of business will find skills learned in this department useful throughout his lifetime.
