The clanging of metal, the nonchalant tossing hack and forth of inane conversa- tion, the dumping of schoolhooks into a sorrily cluttered locker, the facial expres- sions spelling out j-0-y when the time 3:50 is glimpsed on a hall clock - all these characteristics are common to the halls of West High School. If a student does not find happiness in any other nook in the building, he will always experience com- fort in the carefree atmosphere exhihited in our halls of learning . all 'fwgq Halls display free, casual atmosphere

K .4 ,A 'Q ' f' kk . is 'l 4- I XL ,, Y , . .. 2 3 Red, white, and blue were the Colors used to set the patriotic theme of the 1971 sophomore class party. The party was held on September 21, in the West Cafeteria. The two masters of ceremonies were Brenda Hillman and Iohn Owen. Musical entertainment was provided by rock groups South Podunk Center and Shag. With a sizeable turnout, this event gave the sophs a good opportunity not only to have fun, but to become acquainted with unknown class- ITlillQS.
