A crowd of 500 sophs listened and danced to the sounds of The Liquid Sunshine and The Silver Laughter who engaged in a battle of the bands. A vote of those attending the function was taken, and the Liquid Sunshine was declared the winner, and received a cash prize for their performance. The room was gayly adorned with posters depicting various mountain-type scenes. Balloons decorated the ceiling, but during the course of the evening, most of them vanished. The best decorations, though, were the students themselves who, for the most part, came well in accordance with the theme. Dave Asmus, master of ceremonies, announced the winners of the costume contest. Vicki Ditto won first prize for the girls' individual most humorous and Gary Good- man was awarded this prize in the boys' division. Steve Kraklio and Sandy Fennelly won first place in the couple's most original category. 23
