A great future IS 1n store for the graduating class of Januarv 1947 Ambition iesourceful ness honesty intelligence and versatlllty are the characteristic traits of this 1mmortal and irre press1ble never to be forgotten class Since this unusual class carries so manv re markable traits I will endeavor to convey to you w1th the aid of youi constructive imaginations the futuristic achievements and accomplishments of mv classmates First we find those three great politicians Hubert Heard James Milne and Donnv Pappy Schoner who are candidates for office in that gieat election of 1958 The competition is mostly Heard Milne versus Schoner since the deciding question of this election 1S Should we ma1nta1n true 1313562 faire or should the government monopolize and galn full control of that great corporation of American Garbage Collecting? We shall now leave the grave problems facing our country and turn to the brlghter side of life by next v1sual1z1ng some of Wests most famous champ1ons in the athlet1c world Hobert Davis who won fame for his great tennis contests in gift to women some keen competition when they meet 1n the Olympics to decide who is the great est tennis player that is Keeping to this sub1ect let us now focus our attention on that undefeated unbeatable woman heavyweight boxing champion of the world Helen Michalsky She IS now traveling around the world challenging to box any woman OI wrestle any man Accompanying Russian on her tour 1S her trainer and best friend Pat Swearmgen Unable to keep awav from our alma mater Janis Ryan and Jerry Schneier have returned to West to accept some teaching positions Janis who completed her cadet teaching in math under Mr Robert Tucker has now taken over Room 1000 Jerrv the new music director found little need of improvement in either the band or or chestra In fact there is only a slight difference in the size of the band which now consists of 200 pieces Berny Gertz that mellow voiced protege of Coleman Scott has risen to great heights in radio Not only does he advertise the benefits of Harold Everts reducing creams but every day at 5 oclock he sings Super Suds over all the NBC networks Gertrude Umansky 1S now head fashion de signer for Paramount Studios on Manchester Road But this isnt where Gittys talents end for her famous smile can be seen shining forth from magazine covers all over the World Yes West knows how to choose them A woman s club for the large per cent of the girls who have turned domestic on us and have taken that last desperate step towards matr1mony has been organized Usually seen here weekly aie Phyllis Preto Maxine Yee Betty Jane Lucas Donna Monroe Bette Ware Sarah Jane Rooke and Emmogene Odom At the Five Po1nts Palace a large red and green neon sign is advertising a new hit show starring Marv Parasson the nightingale of West Akron in her first movie since her return from Europe where she has been studying music Also continuing her singing career IS Ehzabeth Rich ardson Serving Uncle Sam in the United States Army forsees a great future 1n this branch of the serv ice and so far has receix ed every decoration and honor pOSS1blQ except the good conduct medal Rejomlng the Navy in order to take a vacation lrom th1s strenuous nerxe wracking c1x1l1an life Tonv Catalano IS now serving in the air corps Harrv Miller has finallv released his great secret in his latest best seller The Art of Re laxing From West there IS maybe one in 50 years who really hits high society but be1ng of a very surpassing nature our class has contributed a so c1al1te 47 years early Playbov Nick Waslvko is s1mplv visiting all the n1ght spots in New York and keeping those on the spot reporters Imogene Selman and Tony Carretta busy covering all of his social affairs With this last 1mag1nat1ve portraval I shall bring this prophecy to an end hoping I have given you a good 1dea of what the best from West will be doing approximately ten years from today ANNA MAE NELSON . . , , , 7 ' ' 7 7 ' GL 77 U I .
