Summers Seniors aT lasT, These colonisTs lusTily cheered Their baske+baII Team, including Two oT Their members-Bob MarTin and MorTon Leeper, on To vicTory in The cap- Ture oT The Pioneer League Championship. As There was no play-oTT beTween leagues, The ciTy championship was noT deTermined. The Senior Glee Club was eligible Tor The STaTe Music conTesT and so They again journeyed To Columbus. Here The Girls' Glee Club received a superior raTing and The mixed chorus was very proud To be The only club To receive a superior raTing in sighT reading. WiTh The disTincTion oT being seniors, we acquired The righT To hold a Town meeTing, aT which Time Bob Summers was elecTed president Bob Hays, vice-presidenT: and VioleT FleTcher, secreTary. During The lasT oT May, The owners of The bi-weekly paper, The LariaT, announced Their sTaTT Tor The TorThcoming year. Included among The new sTaTT were several members ol: our colony, namely: Bob Summers, Ben Sugar, Leona PorTman, Lillian Kalman, and Bob MarTin. Dan O'Connell was laTer added To The sTaTT. On June 2, all The colonies held a naTional elec- Tion Tor a House oT RepresenTaTives, called STudenT Council. Ben Sugar, ElizabeTh Umansky, NuTTrie Bran- caTo, Bob Summers, Lillian Kalman, and Ben Bliman were elecTed Trorn our colony. The resumpTion oT colonial acTiviTies in SepTember and consequenTly The lasT lap oT our colonizaTion was her- alded by a re-clecTion of our adminisTraTors. Our presi- donT and secre-Tary reTained Their offices, while Lillian Kalman was elecTed vice-presidenT, and Jeane WenT- worTh, Treasurer. Josephine CaTalano, DoroTh Ramsin, and Dan O'Connell were added To The lisT oil colonisTs compleTing Their Toil in Three and one-halT years, making a ToTal oT seven. On OcTober 5 The owners oT ThaT semi- annual year book, The Rodeo, announced Their sTaTT, which included Bob Andrews, Molly GoTTlieb, RuTh Haw- Thorne, Tom Maselli, WalTer ShreTTler, Gloria WinTer, ElizabeTh Umansky, and Gloria Rosenman.
