AE A DEV' EW Cl: ADMINISTIQATIDN - 1:3 West High School which was opened in 1914 to accommodate only 1,100 students .has reached its highest enrollment of 2,010 students this year. We regret not seeingthree of our former teachers at West this year: lVIiss Ruse, 1 Miss Dackerman, and Miss Hartman. Miss Ruse, however, is only on a leave of absence and we hope to see her again in the fall. Miss Dackerman, our instructor in l music for five years, has been transferred to Akron South High School. Miss Hart- I man resigned her position here to teach at Brownell Hall, Omaha, Nebraska. f We are fortunate in having with us this year Miss Abbie DeLay, Miss Ellen l Jane Lorenz, Miss Lucile Gustafson, Miss Myrtle Smith, and Miss Lydia Oberdeck as our new faculty members. ' The new cadets at West last fall were: Miss Cyril Krohngold, Mrs. Amy Capps, Miss Kathryn Armacost, Miss Jeanette French, lVIiss Louise Plotkin, and 'fo Miss Belle Fuller. 1 ' Miss Oberdeck is reopening the course in German. This course was formerly My-R, taught by Miss Bockstahler and Mr. Culp until the spring of 1917 when it was rail discontinued because of the World War. r limb A course in modeling clay was started by Miss Henry a year ago. This is the F first course of its kind in Akron Schools.
