They have been in charge of the planning of the campaign, advertising, and col- lections. Rosemarie and Wendell will describe their experiences at the various agencies they visited which are sponsored by the Community Fund. Tom and Marilyn will base their talks on re- cent agency interviews. To open the program, the West High Band will play several numbers, under the direction of Mr. George Conti. Collections this year will be Qaken up from October 15 to October 25. At the end of third period each day of the collections, totals will be posted on charts in the front halls. The Student Council determined the amount to be given by the pupils. Senior Highers will be asked to give an average of 65 cents, and Junior Highers will aim at a 50-cent average. This year the ninth graders will be asked to give the same amount as the Senior Highers, whereas in past years they have donated the same amount as the Junior Highers. Last year, the average donation was 60 cents per pupil, an increase of five cents over the 1954 collections. Collection Material Distributed Even though collections will start officially October 15, the Student Council distributed boxes and other collection material this week. Any homeroom teacher who wants to start his collec- tions today may do so, but no money will be picked up from the hamerooms by campaign representatives until Monday. In past years, Miss Huxtnble said, West has nova-r failed to meet or bop its goal. I hope that this year will be no exception.
