Printed Leggings And Thermal Solids Adorn Westites Spirits were high at Go West’s First Annual Black Tie Party. The day started with an auditorium, during which Daisy Mae and Mar-ryin’ Sam candidates were chosen. Kris Becht chased Nelson Ross and then booted him across the head with a particularly winning style. The Highsteppers and hockey players then did an equally winning dance on stage, preparin’ everyone for a rouser of a time at the dance which followed that evening. Formal wear at the evening dance ranged from printed floor length leggings to chic white thermal solids. The many participants had a rouser of a time as they “hoed on down” to the ever favored sound of a D.J. Even many of the supposedly meek were witnessed dusting the rosin from the floor! The fun, however, was often seen interrupted by a sheriff dragging one’s partner off to the neighborhood jail. All turned out well, though; a peck on the muzzle or bail of ten cents got ’em back clomping along at one’s side. It was a high steppin’ time from the Highsteppers. Mow who's going to jail? Dogpatchers take a stroll. Just the two of us.

Senior Attendant. Kristy Bauer Senior Attendant. Jill Lund The 1979 Homecoming Court During one of the longest drum rolls ever to vibrate in the West auditorium. Queen Lynn Viebahn was crowned much to the pleasure of the onlookers and her temporarily lame date, Mike Galle. Will Ho-bert, with his escort, Carrie Osterberg on one arm and his mother on the other, brought many ooohhhs and aaahhhs from the audience. The alumni then went on to party and prepare for the parade and game, while students continued with classes in the spirit brought about by the half day of school.
